Praying for Emmaus Walk 1503

Wow, it is hard to believe that it has already been 3 months since our Walk 1489. Now to be praying for a group like ours bring back so many lovely memories. So, I'll end this prayer time with "Prayer to the Holy Spirit":

Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth. Oh God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant and by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy your consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Thanks, Debra, for doing this. I think it will be a good way to keep up and keep us accountable. Who knows, this may be the way of the modern reunion group. I hope that everyone has had a good week. Debra had an eventful trip home and news when she got there. I think that keeping calm during it all shows how the Holy Spirit was working on her during the walk.

I hope that many of you will be able to attend the Gathering on Monday, April 6th, at 6 p.m. for food and 7 p.m. for our service. It will be at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. Let me know if you need directions. As "babe chicks", you won't have to bring food. Just come ready to sing and praise the Lord.

Angie

Keeping the Fire Alive in our 4th Days

Fellow Pilgrims,

Here is a space where we can continue to "walk and talk " together, encourage one another, and share the Lord's light. Please let me know if you want to make changes, add links for special groups, or brainstorms. Please feel free to post comments, or suggestions, and keep us all posted on your journeys.

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do". As partners in Christ's work, I look forward to helping to communicate and share the good works that you all are doing. As for me...

The test of "peace" came immediately after leaving our walk on Sunday, when my wonderful friend and sponsor's car broke down on the way home. She had to call a tow truck, but within that experience of being "stuck on the side of the road", I got to know my friend's daughter in a most special way. Upon arriving home, I found that my husband's truck which had been towed the weekend before the walk, was going to cost $7,000.00 to fix. Even within this unfortunate news, I don't feel the anxiety that I know I would have felt before our walk. I truly feel like I left my old self on that seat that overlooked the river and the cross, and I'm now learning "to be content whatever the circumstances". I so appreciate all the agape love, the clergy team, the outside team, the team members, and fellow pilgrims, and I cling to the idea of making love a verb.

De Clores,
Debra Warren
